Sunday past saw the Deeside loop audax come round. I have often looked at it and thought that sounds like a good ride but audaxes are for old people.
Turned out that others in the club had been thinking the same so me , Baff , Euan , Hamish , Scott , pops and dougal all turned up in the pouring rain thinking "this will be hell" ....and we were right !
The sun broke through right at the start of the event and gave way to some spectacular scenary , some long climbs and a bugger of a headwind on the return leg from braemar
first group in - euan hamish and baff did 7 hours riding time
second group with me scott and pops came in with 7 hours 15 riding time
Good relaxed day out in the saddle with cafe stops. Next audax is 300k starting from kirriemuir and taking in the snow roads.
