Today was round 2 of the angus bike chain winter series
after round 1's "relitively" sucessful 2nd place after cycling there and back (45k each way) i decided to proove a point by driving there and actually racing for racings sake ....
after a nice slow start i made a judgement on how people were running and soon realised that neil scott was riding powerfully and was probably gonna make an early break , decided my best option was to take his back wheel for a while and pace him till he made a mistake ...and sure enough he did he missed a right hand turn off a fire road onto a singletrack this allowed me past without applying too much effort , i let him stay with me just to ensure i didnt blow up by going too quickly , he made a couple of attacks but i was able to recover from them then on the last lap i just had an SIS smart gel and put the head down and the arse up ....finished a min ahead of neil in first place
i celebrated by having a monster bob burger from the roos leap tonight ,....thats a pound of meat,with chilli and bacon :D
10 hours on a turbo trainer on wednesday for charity :s the bordoms set in already !
